Louise Upperton is a creative consultant focused in music, entertainment, fashion, lifestyle and luxury. An accomplished professional, she has 14 years of experience in creative industries – delivering strategic thinking and bespoke marketing and communications solutions for the modern world – and a diverse background in music marketing, sales and distribution, graphic design and art direction, brand management, advertising, digital marketing and social media, business development, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
She’s produced a wide range of projects including album artwork and packaging, visual art, branding, photo shoots, printed collateral, annual reports, book covers, advertisements, online content, digital and social media campaigns. Louise acts as the strategic lead on all projects, drawing on expertise from a curated, global network of creative and technology professionals. She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree with a double major in Mass Communications from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She has lived in North America, the UK, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific and is used to working across multiple time zones.
In 2001, Louise began designing album covers for independent record label, Arts & Crafts, and went on to become Art Director for the label. In 2006, she received a Juno Award Nomination for Album Artwork Design of Broken Social Scene’s self-titled album. From 2006 onwards, she led global and digital music marketing and distribution for the label, working with artists such as Feist, Broken Social Scene, Stars, Kevin Drew, Jason Collett and New Buffalo.
In 2010, Louise moved to Hong Kong and joined TBWA, a global advertising network, as Director of Marketing and Communications across Asia-Pacific.
From 2013-2014, she hosted music events at Salon No. 10, an eclectic private member’s club for Hong Kong’s creative connoisseurs. She has curated music for brands, fashion shows, showrooms, special events, and at some of Hong Kong’s most popular dining establishments such as ISONO and VASCO in the PMQ, Duddell's, The Pawn and The Butcher’s Club. She’s also featured as a DJ at parties for lifestyle brands such as Lululemon, 1800 Paradise and GRANA.
In 2016, Louise returned to North America to focus on new creative projects. In her spare time, she experiments with black and white photography and mixed media visual arts. She also practices yoga and wakesurfs on weekends.
